Hermann Fässler & Sons Artistic Carpentry was founded in 1935 by Hermann Fässler Senior (1912-1978). He acquired the property at Weissbadstrasse 33 in 1937. The family business, managed by Mr Fässler Senior and his sons Hermann, Kläus and Urs, flourished thanks to the great dedication of everyone involved. In 1965 they moved into the newly erected residential and commercial building opposite the main building, IM BLAUEN HAUS. The clientele grew to cover the length and breadth of Switzerland, the bordering countries and even America and Australia.

After the death of Hermann Fässler Senior (1978) the unique collection of Appenzell artistic items was opened to the public. The museum IM BLAUEN HAUS was opened - artistic carpentry had by then been in the family for three generations. The company’s activities have always remained the same - all the furnishings are made personally in the Appenzell workshop from the raw materials; we provide advice, individual ideas and creation and delivery to your home.

We offer our special Fässler services for all carved and inlaid furnishings, in simple or elaborate designs. We are also just the place for restorations and antiques. We can give you advice at any time in our shops at Weissbadstrasse 22 and 33, in our showroom on Postplatz, at our branch in Flims, or in your home.
